  1. Dear Caroline, When I put myself in the place of a potential recruiter, what jumps to my attention is that you do not indicate in which language you are the most fluent (in which country did you spend the most years, etc), nor do you indicate your specialization and working fields. Nobody has the time to spend hours exploring your Twitter and Facebook profiles, trying to dig out an information that might not even be there.

Your profile sounds as “I have no specific mother tongue and no specific area of specialization”, I am afraid.

And inviting your readers to spend more time exploring your online profiles is not very polite, I feel. It lacks consideration for their precious time. And time is money…

You can delete this after reading, of course! 🙂

    • Hi, there!
First of all, I’d like to thank you for visiting and taking the time to have a look around my blog. Much appreciated! I also appreciate your taking the time to give me some feedback on my blog and social media descriptions. I think feedback is really important, so I always consider them and take them into account.
You’re right, my blog indicates the languages I work with, but it does not specify in which combination. I’ll make that clearer. Thanks a lot for pointing it out!
However, my Twitter and Facebook are crystal clear as to my language combinations and area of specialization. Besides, I also provide the link to my website, where you can find detailed information about my professional and educational background in three available languages: English, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. You can choose the one that is more appropriate to you. 😉
I understand the point you made, but my blog’s main audience is mainly translation professionals, not clients, that’s why I decided to make it less specific. Furthermore, I personally don’t like cluttering my social media platforms with technical information. I’d rather send people who are interested in learning more about myself to my website, that has all the necessary information. In my opinion, the main purpose of social media is for instant engagement, not for providing detailed information.
In case you haven’t visited my website yet, please feel free to do it. And I hope you like it as much as I do. Should you not find any needed information there, please do let me know. It will be a pleasure to answer any questions you may have.
It would also be a pleasure to e-meet you, but the link you provided seems to be broken. 😦 Please feel free to add me in your preferred social media platform or send me an email.
Once again, thanks a lot for visiting and leaving a feedback!
